A leading integrated Citrus grower and marketer, based in Vero Beach Florida, IMG Citrus is looking for a strong and motivated sales professional to manage and develop sales programs with major National and Canadian retailers and produce distributors. The Company product range includes both Florida and imported fresh Citrus from different parts of the world. The rapidly developing import activity provides unique opportunities for growth.

We are looking for someone with a passion for produce and agriculture, an entrepreneurial spirit that will enjoy building relationships with both growers and retailers. 5+ years experience in produce sales and/or imports.

ABOUT IMG CITRUS 
Located in Indian River County, IMG Citrus operates as one of Florida’s main producer and distributor of fresh citrus. The company is vertically integrated --farming over 5000 acres in Florida, and operating a modern Packinghouse, and a newly built refrigerated distribution center. Marketing and sales of Citrus domestically and globally is a core competency of the Company and is supported by an in-house sales/marketing team and Company own production of all Florida citrus varieties: grapefruit, oranges and tangerines. A new area of growth for the Company is a Summer import program from the Southern Hemisphere allowing IMG Citrus to provide year round citrus to the most demanding customers in the USA and Canada.

JOB SUMMARY 

The Produce Sales representative will join the Sales and Marketing team with mission to manage and develop sales programs with major National and Canadian retailers and produce distributors. The Company product range includes both Florida and imported fresh Citrus from different parts of the world.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES 

The Produce Sales executive will:

  • Develop and manage relationships and programs  with leading produce retailers in the USA and Canada

  • Develop programs, insure utmost returns and communicate with overseas growers

  • Oversee that quality standards meet customer requirements

  • Communicate clearly with internal teams to best deliver  on customer needs

  • Coordinate  with team to program harvesting and packing and import volumes

  • Help facilitate logistics, packing and freighting of products

  • Visit customers and participate in Industry trade shows

  • Manage daily orders and coordinate with customers and internal team

Preferably, the candidate will have experience in building and managing sales programs with leading food retailers in the US and Canada (i.e. Publix, Winn Dixie, Kroger, Aldi, Costco, Loblaws..). Import experience in developing and managing trade programs a plus. Candidates must be able to work independently and be open to working collaboratively in teams.
 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • College degree in business, agriculture, food science  or related.

  • 5 years+ experience in produce sales and/or imports preferably citrus.

  • Good communication skills both verbal and written

  • Negotiation skills

  • Self starter

  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams  

  • Some travel in US, Canada, Europe, South America, Africa.
