Irrigation Landscape Foreman

JOB SUMMARY 

Oversees landscape irrigation installation for project construction activities, to ensure compliance with design specifications, budgets and schedule. Irrigation Foreman will be hands on and monitor the installation to insure quality specifications are met. Responsible for crew production rates, quality control and safety.
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Monitor irrigation install to insure quality specifications are met.

  • Work with the installation crew on installing new sprinkler systems from start to finish.

  • Supervises a crew of up to 4 employees and prioritizes work.

  • Maintain budget or justify variances above or below budget accruals.

  • Provide for the installation of irrigation in a safe, efficient manner.

  • Requisition, store, and secure materials.  Maintain an effective and efficiency inventory control method.

  • Seek new and innovative methods, procedures, and tools to improve efficiency and quality of irrigation installation.

  • Assess quality of work on job site, facilities and systems through regular documented status reports.

  • Seek and implement methods to eliminate or reduce rework and redundancy.

  • Encourage and solicit employee feedback to identify improvement ideas.

  • Supervise, educate and guide the installation staff.

  • Maintain employee record keeping requirements related to attendance, performance evaluations and payroll.

  • Continually analyze workflow, seeking areas for improvement.

  • Promote quality customer service.

  • Train staff in methods to improve quality of work.

  • Improve professional development through membership in professional organizations, read trade and journal articles to stay abreast of changes in field of interest.

  • All other duties assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 3 + years of direct working experience in irrigation installation.

  • Minimum of three year in a management or supervisory position with the ability conduct all employment practices related to managing and directing staff.

  • Computer skills using one or more spreadsheet and word-processing software application programs.

  • Must have demonstrated to be highly organized self motivated, and take pride in quality production in previous job(s).
  • Ability to operate various kinds of farm/construction equipment including trucks, tractors, mules and forklifts.

Physical Demands

  • Able to independently lift objects not to exceed 100 lbs on a regular basis.

  • Able to sit, stand, bend and walk for long periods of time during the day and night.

  • Drive  and operate vehicles such as trucks, skid steer loaders, front-end loaders

  • Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to effectively use small hand tools, equipment, keyboard, pen and pencil.

Job Site Conditions

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather (heat or cold), pollens and dust.
     

REQUIRED LICENSES / HOURS OF WORK 

Valid Driver's License with clean MVR.
40+ hours per work week with start and end times varying depending on organizational needs. Will be required to work overtime during peak times.
