Landscape Installation Laborer
 

JOB SUMMARY 

Responsible for completing landscape installation jobs of high quality and in an efficient manner. Landscape installation using hand or power tools and earth moving equipment. Perform a variety of tasks, which may include planting, sod laying, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, mulching and irrigation installation.  Safely operate equipment with all necessary personal protective equipment.

This is a full-time year round opening to replace core group vacancies. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Digging holes and installation of plants, trees, grass and other plant materials.

  • Mixes fertilizer and/ or compost as directed for planting.

  • Installation of tree stakes as required.

  • Hauling and installation of materials using wheelbarrow and a rake.

  • Hauling and installation of edging, weed fabric, mulch, flagstone, ledge stone boulders, crushed granite, pavers, river rock, etc.

  • Ability to operate landscape related tools i.e. weed-eater, mower, hedge trimmer, skid steer, plate compactor, pressure washer, etc.

  • Check equipment before utilizing, and notify supervisor of damaged equipment.

  • Waters plants, trees, lawns using a hose, portable sprinkler system or watering can.

  • Builds forms for concrete, mixes concrete and/ or mortar as needed.

  • Helps install masonry: concrete block, flagstone, pavers as needed.

  • Places decorative boulders and stones.

  • Must be able to use landscape related hand tools: rakes, shovels, broom, pick, axe, rock hammer, digging bar, wheelbarrow, hand pruners, loppers, machete, sod roller, etc.

  • Maintain, cultivate and care of plant material owned or purchased by company.

  • Operation, care, use and maintenance of all hand tools, power tools and construction equipment related to the trade.

  • Lifting up to 75 pounds frequently throughout the workday

  • Pulling and pushing materials and equipment.

  • Stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time.

  • Full range of mobility in upper and lower body; overhead reaching; ability to work in various positions.

  • All other duties assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 3+ mths or direct landscape installation experience in commercial projects.  

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

REQUIRED LICENSES / HOURS OF WORK 

  • Valid FL Driver’s License a plus
  • Hours: Monday - Saturday as required.  Start and end times will vary depending on organizational needs.
