Human Resources Assistant

JOB SUMMARY

The HR Assistant will be involved with recruiting, hiring, WC claims management, H2B and H2A work programs and benefit functions. Perform various administrative tasks and complete special assignments and projects as required. Prepares human resources documents, maintains personnel files, records statistics and handles highly confidential material in the human resources department. Answers general questions and inquiries in all areas of human resources. Transport and provide translation services as required. Completes special assignments and projects as required. Must be able to read, speak and write in English and Spanish proficiently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assist department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all company employees.

  • Participate in benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting and enrollment processing.

  • Participates in recruitment and coordination of interviews.

  • Assists with the processing of H2B and H2A application process, recruitment and hiring.

  • Conducts required background and prior employment verifications of applicants.

  • Administrative and Data Entry – new hire processing, salary administration, termination forms, disciplinary forms, etc…

  • Conduct data collections for project development and/or document generation.

  • Assist in case management of Workers’ Compensation cases. Transport and provide translation services to employees (WC cases) as needed.

  • Manage employee personnel files and personnel databases.

  • Translates personnel related documents and information as directed from English to Spanish.

  • Provide liaison services for employees and management.

  • All other duties assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.

  • One or more years of applied experience in human resources or administration function preferred.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a must. Must be able to read, speak and write in English and Spanish proficiently.

  • First Aid certification a plus.

  • Organizational and planning skills.

  • Multitasked individual and able to work in a fast paced environment.

  • Good logic and analytical skills.

  • Demonstrated proficiency using software applications. MS Windows, Google Drive, ADP, Excel, etc..

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to relate well with a variety of people: vendors, community, and employees.

  • Flexible Schedule

REQUIRED LICENSES / HOURS OF WORK

Valid Driver's License with clean MVR.

Monday through Friday, start and end times vary depending on organizational needs. May be required to work overtime during peak times.
