JOB SUMMARY 

The Landscape Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing landscape project construction activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, budgets, and schedules. Monitor landscape installations to ensure quality specifications are met. Maintain budget or justify variances above or below budget accruals. Provide for the installation of landscaping materials in a safe, efficient manner. Requisition, store, and secure materials and conduct inventory control procedures. Seek new and innovative methods, procedures, and tools to improve efficiency and quality. Assess the quality of work on job site, facilities and systems through regular documented status reports. Supervise, educate, and guide the installation staff. Maintain employee record-keeping requirements related to attendance, performance evaluations and payroll. Continually analyze workflow, seeking areas for improvement. Operate heavy machinery and hand tools as needed to perform tasks. The Landscape Superintendent will be located on-site.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Monitor landscape install to ensure quality specifications are met.
  • Maintain budget or justify variances above or below budget accruals.
  • Provide for the installation of landscaping in a safe, efficient manner.

  • Assess quality of work on jobsite, facilities and systems through regular documented status reports.
  • Supervise, educate and guide the installation staff.

  • All other duties assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

  • 5 + years of direct working experience in landscape construction installation. 
  • Minimum of 3 years in a management or supervisory position with the ability to conduct all employment practices related to managing and directing staff.
  • Computer skills using one or more spreadsheet and word-processing software application programs.
  • Must have demonstrated to be highly organized, self-motivated, and take pride in quality production in previous job(s). 
  • Ability to operate various kinds of irrigation construction equipment. 
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

REQUIRED LICENSES / HOURS OF WORK 

Valid driver's license and clean driving record. This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 40+ hours per work week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather (heat or cold), and moving mechanical equipment.
