Description: | This position is stationed in our Ft. Pierce Satellite Farm and involves a variety of tasks, the main tasks are planting and harvesting palms and trees preparing palms for shipment, loading and unloading of products and pruning of trees and palms. |
Maintain palms and/or trees to meet Florida #1 standards or better according to Florida grades and standards.
Plant new material or harvest materials for shipment.
Maintain constant shapes between sizes when pruning.
Operate farm machinery, tools and farm tractors as needed.
Loading and unloading of crops from trailers.
Follow Cherrylake pruning processes and procedures.
Stake according to Cherrylake procedures.
Apply fertilizer and herbicide according to Cherrylake procedures.
Maintain sections clean and free of weeds, leaf litter, suckers, and trash.
Apply pesticides as indicated by Pesticide License Applicator (if applicable and trained)
Demonstrate a safe work environment.
Observe safety rules at all times.
All other laborer duties assigned.
Physical Job Duties
Full range of mobility in upper and lower body; overhead reaching; ability to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time.
Strenuous physical exertion with continuous lifting, bending and stretching.
Ability to lift objects independently from 50 lbs and over without assistance.
Ability to do work with using ladders of different sizes to reach trees.
May be required to demonstrate the ability to use hand equipment, such as clippers, loppers and machete safely and in regulation with CL’s procedures and safety OSHA standards. Mechanized equipment is used as needed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather (heat or cold), pollens and dust.
