COMPANY OVERVIEW

IMG Citrus, a leading integrated Citrus grower and marketer, based in Vero Beach Florida, is looking for a De-Greening & Receiving Supervisor. Located in Indian River County, IMG Citrus operates as one of Florida’s main distributors of fresh citrus. The company is vertically integrated --farming over 5000 acres in Florida, and operating a state of the art Packinghouse, and a 1,000 pallet refrigerated distribution center. Marketing and sales of Citrus domestically and globally is a core competency of the Company and is supported by an in-house sales/marketing team and Company own production of all Florida citrus varieties: grapefruit, oranges and tangerines. The Company is committed to growth of its Florida program through aggressive new plantings, acquisition of existing grove and consolidation opportunities. Another area of fast growth is the summer import program from the Southern Hemisphere allowing IMG Citrus to provide year round citrus to the most demanding customers in the USA and Canada.


SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Packinghouse Receiving Supervisor will manage and oversee all inbound citrus loads and coordinate receiving operations for distribution throughout the packinghouse operations. 

Worksite Location: Vero Beach, FL  


JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Manage incoming citrus loads, unloading of boxes and coordinating reloading of bins on trailers.

  • Responsible for bin and trailer fleet management. 

  • Evaluate quality issues and provide viable solutions to upper management for correction of those issues.

  • Coordinate the movement of product for receiving to P1. 

  • Coordinate with Harvesting team for incoming loads.

  • Properly complete all necessary documentation of incoming loads, trip tickets.

  • Develop and implement training procedures for operators in receiving and cull grading processes. 

  • Ensure each staff member is appropriately trained in the policies and procedures for their particular role to promote operational efficiency throughout the process.

  • Oversee morning startup tests and equipment checks to ensure accurate and efficient operation.

  • Monitor and assist packing house maintenance staff to ensure that all PM work is completed on schedule to reduce potential workday downtime.

  • Ensure timely reporting of all machine/equipment malfunctions to maintenance staff and to the Director of Packing house Operations. 

  • Assist in the accurate and timely completion of all relevant food safety logs and other documentation as required for continued proficiency of the annual audit

  • Ensure the drench is operating efficiently, make special note of chemical levels and correct saturation time.  

  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS & TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Previous citrus packinghouse or similar experience required (3+ years)

  • Previous experience in managing people and teams of workers.

  • Ability to work and lead without constant supervision.

  • Microsoft Office Suite: Intermediate skill level

  • High level of organization and the ability to think quickly and “out of the box”.

  • Ability to train and serve as a mentor to other employees.

  • Ability to collaborate and work as a member of a team.

  • Ability to solve problems in an efficient and concise manner.

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English highly desired but not required

  • Ability to operate forklift safely and effectively.

 

WORK HOURS & ENVIRONMENT

40+ hours work week and required to work additional hours during peak times or as needed.  Weekends and nights are required as needed.    

  • Work is performed outdoors and indoors in packinghouse environment

  • Working around machinery

  • Working around moving vehicles

  • Working in close proximity to others

  • Will be required to wear appropriate safety protection when needed.
