JOB SUMMARY 

The Landscape Maintenance Estimator computes cost estimates for materials, labor, subcontractor’s work, and other landscape maintenance related activities to assist management in developing pricing for proposals. Utilizes blueprints and specifications and knowledge of the landscape maintenance industry to analyze project needs and compile cost estimates.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Utilize computer software and digitizing equipment to estimate job costs, material needs, and labor needs.
  • Conduct onsite measurements of landscape maintenance projects. 
  • Customer relationship management and procurement of scope documents for projects.
  • Gather, calculate and compile take off data for use in bid proposal estimates.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with key clients and managers.
  • Prepare routine estimates and detailed costs for multiple projects.
  • Communicate with vendors for material pricing and subcontractor quotes.
  • Review data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists.
  • Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard labor hours and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
  • Reconcile actual costs to estimates.  
  • All other duties assigned and special projects.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Two years technical training or equivalent required with a four year degree preferred.
  • Prior estimating job experience within the landscape maintenance industry.
  • Must have demonstrated to be highly organized, computer literate, self motivated, detailed oriented, work well with teams and take pride in quality production in previous job(s).
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • Strong computer skills including a high proficiency with digitizers, word-processing, and spreadsheet applications.
  • Demonstrated high level of accuracy in previous job / jobs.
  • Completion of High school or higher level education required.

REQUIRED LICENSES / HOURS OF WORK 

Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 40 hours per work week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather (heat or cold), and moving mechanical equipment. In addition, job sites are located on both residential and commercial property. The employee may also occasionally be exposed to the homeowner’s pets.
