JOB SUMMARY 

The Landscape Maintenance Production Leader will be working directly under an account leader. The Production Leader will schedule maintenance services in accordance with contract specification and man hours, directs field personal (2 to 4 lawn care crews) and resources, provide directions and goals to be accomplished and emphasizes quality and efficiency of operations. This entails the overall grounds keeping, production, safety, quality control and completion of assigned and self-written work orders. Controlling workflow, maintaining quality, customer contact while on property, developing work orders and communicating with irrigation and pest control technicians any issues they see while on property. Assist crews in their work duties which will include mowing, trimming, spraying, pruning, and overall crew direction. Training of your Crew Leader Assistants is a vital part of your responsibility as is safety training, and developing your crew members. The Production Leader will also have a small book of business they are solely responsible for. This includes the weekly client communication, property walks and enhancement sales opportunities. Morning and afternoon routines and completing company required paperwork will be required. Ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong background in crew supervision, and working knowledge of all aspects of landscape and turf maintenance. English and Spanish speaking a plus and must have valid Florida driver’s license.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Manage key landscape maintenance properties as assigned by Account Leader. Receive and complete work orders.

  • Inspect and maintain overall quality of properties for proper mowing, proper pruning techniques, potential issues, and proper turf color and water management.

  • Controlling workflow, maintaining quality, customer contact while on property, developing work orders and communicating with irrigation and pest control technicians any issues they see while on property.

  • Create job sequence plans including mow and detail sectional maps

  • Identify insect and disease issues and report to Account Leader and coordinate with Spray Technicians.

  • Assist crews in their work duties which will include mowing, trimming, spraying, pruning, and overall crew direction.

  • Develop strong positive relationships with crew members and builds strong crew leaders. Provide hands on training and support of field employees in areas of safety, proper pruning techniques, and operation of equipment.

  • Oversee proper safety equipment and PPE usage and practices of crew.

  • Conduct proper on the job training with crew as needed.

  • Address questions or issues with Account Leader.

  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients.

  • Complete assigned work orders within due dates.

  • Direct fertilizer and pesticide applications.  

  • Complete weekly vehicle and equipment reports.

  • Perform inventory counts of equipment and chemicals.

  • Track work hours of employees.

  • Maintain vehicles and equipment clean.

  • Maintain and care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks or walls.

  • Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes.

  • Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chainsaws.

  • Supervise trash pick up of all common areas and property.

  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required.

  • Maintain or repair irrigation systems.

  • Water lawns, trees, or plants, using portable sprinkler systems, hoses or watering cans.

  • Care for nature turf fields, making sure the underlying soil has the required composition to allow proper drainage and to support the grasses used on the fields.

  • Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, or shrubs and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools.

  • Apply fertilizer to ground to enhance growth.

  • Sweep walkways of debris.

  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds keeping.

  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to75 pounds.

  • All other duties assigned for landscape maintenance.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Four or more years of prior landscape maintenance leadership role experience, including strong background in crew leadership.

  • Knowledge of proper tree trimming, mowing, edging, blowing and power equipment related to landscape duties.

  • Knowledge of maintenance for landscape equipment including lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, edgers and leaf blowers

  • Knowledge of irrigation systems including pumps, piping and sprinkler repair

  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, small trailers, small dump truck and backhoe is a plus

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.

  • High school or higher level education preferred.

  • Must be dependable and hardworking.

  • Able to work in ever changing weather conditions.

  • Ability to read and follow directions.


REQUIRED LICENSES / HOURS OF WORK 

M- F, 40+ hour work week and may be required to work additional hours during peak times or as needed.  Start and ends times vary.

Valid Driver's License with clean MVR required
