JOB SUMMARY
Support the daily activities in all greenhouse needs for planting crops and preparing the greenhouses. Monitor and make sure the crew is completing tasks in a timely manner and maintaining quality according to CL standards. Perform all job functions of Greenhouse Crew Member I & II.
This is a year-round core position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Receive and accept work assignments from Team Leader and plan for the day to ensure that the team and workflow stays on schedule.
- Communicate with Team Leader on what has been completed for soil needs, cleaning and consolidating/moving material to ensure the greenhouses are ready for upcoming work orders.
- Clean, run soil trays and push soil for the production team to plant crops in.
- Operation of soil machine.
- Move and consolidate plants from the greenhouses to shadehouses.
- Repair any broken pipes, benches or irrigation lines.
- Operation of equipment such as volvo, tractor, hedge trimmers, etc.
- Inspect equipment, machines, and tools to ensure they are in proper safe working order and preventative maintenance is up to date.
- Keep the greenhouse, soil machine and surrounding areas clean and presentable.
- Spray for weeds in the greenhouse.
- Cleaning and monitoring filters and 9000 gallon tank operation.
- Work in wet and hot, humid conditions.
- Promote a positive work environment and exhibit a positive, supportive and enthusiastic attitude towards crew members and other departments.
- Identify potential problems or hazards and make sound decisions. Report unsafe acts or conditions to Team Leader immediately.
- Forecast labor and material needs for future work orders and plan in advance in order to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Communicate ideas and suggestions for improvement to the Team Leader.
- Follow safety guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1 year of prior tree farm, nursery or greenhouse experience or related field.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Perform simple numerical operations such as counting.
- Effectively communicate and follow directions.
- Plant identification.
- Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to write and operate small hand tools and farm equipment
- Plant knowledge and identification is a plus.
- Knowledge of agricultural equipment is a plus.
REQUIRED LICENSES / HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Saturday, 40 hours per work week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to effectively use small hand tools, equipment, keyboard, pen and pencil.

Sit, stand, bend and walk for long periods of time during the day and night.
