Pulling Operations Manager (3rd Shift)
 

JOB SUMMARY 

The Pulling Operations Manager oversees the daily organization and execution of outbound pulling and staging processes. This hands-on leadership role ensures maximum efficiency, safety, and quality throughout the loading department. The role involves supervising teams, operating heavy equipment, and collaborating across departments to meet organizational goals. A key component of this position is fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Assign teams to designated pulling zones.
  • Supervise and assist with the pulling of plant material; operate heavy machinery as needed.
     

  • Coordinate with Product Selection to ensure only “A” grade material is pulled.
     

  • Conduct earth moving equipment Spot Check inspections to ensure equipment safety.
     

  • Ensure teams follow established pulling processes and utilize mobile applications properly.
     

  • Cross-train in Inbound and Loading processes to provide coverage as needed.
     

  • Operate earth-moving equipment for loading and unloading plant material.
     

  • Enforce all safety regulations and ensure proper use of PPE at all times.
     

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the Loading Dock, Outsourcing Sections, and Bays.
     

  • Support continuous improvement and team performance feedback.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Minimum one year of supervisory experience in loading/receiving, preferably in a tree nursery or agricultural environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and process-oriented.

  • Ability to perform effectively under time constraints and high-pressure situations.

  • Self-motivated and proactive; able to multitask and develop creative solutions.

  • Strong work ethic and team leadership skills.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

  • Flexible and adaptable to a dynamic work environment.

  • Strong analytical and logical reasoning abilities.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Proficient in computer systems; Google/Microsoft preferred.

REQUIRED LICENSES / HOURS OF WORK 

           Compact Loader Certification a plus.

           Physical Demands 

  • Work can be repetitive and physically demanding, requiring frequent bending, lifting, sitting and walking. 
  • Able to sit, stand, bend and walk for long periods of time. 
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Operation of heavy farm equipment machinery.

Job Site Conditions 
  • ​​​​​​​While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather (heat or cold), and moving mechanical equipment.


HOURS OF WORK
 

  • Standard schedule: Sunday through Thursday.

  • Shift pay differential for 3rd shift 

  • Start and end times may vary based on operational needs.

  • Additional hours or days may be required during peak seasons or special circumstances.
