JOB SUMMARY 

Cherrylake Inc, is looking for a Procurement & Inventory Control Leader.   This position will be responsible for leading our purchasing processes and teams.

The Procurement & Inventory Control Leader will lead the activities of the purchasing team.  This position oversees the procurement and inventory control of goods not for sale.  These are primarily supplies, equipment, and materials required to support the operations of farm, landscape construction and landscape maintenance groups at Cherrylake.   Primary responsibilities are to build inventory management controls (processes, procedures, communication, expectations, accountability) to ensure the smooth flow of inventory, inventory control and accuracy, negotiate programs, manage key vendor relationships, and to coordinate with other leaders across the organization.  This position reports to the CEO.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES 

Essential Duties

  • Build inventory management controls (processes, procedures, communication, expectations, accountability) to ensure the smooth flow of inventory replenishment, control, procurement of all materials, and ensure consistent inventory levels.

  • Negotiate and approve all vendor contracts and supervise vendor/supplier performance.

  • Maintain a vendor portfolio and discount structures.

  • Ensures purchases are handled within proper guidelines. 

  • Analyzes market trends to ensure pricing is correct. Tracks availability to ensure the operations have needed materials and supplies.

  • Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counting and physical inventory processes. 

  • Monitors inventory in the central inventory warehouse. Communicate any inventory discrepancies and coordinate with the Finance Department.

  • Analyze usage trends for each department.

  • Lead a culture of continuous improvement with a focus on process excellence through use of a LEAN management system philosophy.

  • Perform cost reduction analyses and implement cost reduction measures.

  • Interface with finance and management team daily.

  • Manage and mentor staff 

  • Evaluate assets eligible for liquidation and manage surplus inventory sales.

  • Implement automated reporting systems where needed to aid inventory management.

  • Ensures Central Inventory warehouse is properly managed and maintained with supplies, equipment, and staffing.

  • Participate in the Capital Expenditure planning process and annual budgeting and re-forecast process.

  • Work independently, multi-task, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

  • Function as troubleshooter, resolving all potential problem areas before they can have a negative effect on the Company

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

External Relationships: Vendors, suppliers and service providers.
Internal Relationships: Farm, Landscape Construction and Landscape Maintenance operation teams, Accounting Team
Compensation: DOE
Main Office Location: Groveland, FL.
 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor degree or higher

  • 5+ years experience implementing and building inventory management/control systems and procurement processes and policies. 

  • 5+ years management experience - leadership skills to coach, train and develop teams 

  • Strong analytical and data management skills.

  • Contract negotiation and purchasing skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability collaborate on cross functional team and with outside stakeholders 

  • Proficiency with cloud based computer systems and experience working with ERP systems

  • Experience with Lot-based inventory and cost accounting principles.

  • Familiarity with LEAN Process improvement

 

REQUIRED LICENSES / HOURS OF WORK 

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 40+ hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones.
