JOB SUMMARY

Installation of irrigation systems.  Pipe fitting, excavation, flushing the system, utilizing hand tools for trenches, gluing pipe and all other activities.  An irrigation pipefitter installs watering systems and insures that they function properly; repairs and maintains valves; and reports results to an irrigation foreman. 1+ years of direct working experience in irrigation installation. 

 

 

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Layout, installation & testing, piping & control wiring of irrigation system.
  • Layout, staking, site grading control, grubbing, trenching, & backfill.
  • Must be able to understand hydraulics of irrigation systems. 
  • Installation and testing, maintenance and repair all metallic, non-metallic pipe or tubing, including fittings, valves, pumps, etc.
  • Sprinkler system installation, watering, fertilizing, trimming, planting and the laying of sod.
  • Installation of landscape, IE paths, fences, courtyards, structures.
  • Operation, care, use and maintenance of all hand tools, power tools and construction equipment related to the trade.
  • If applicable, drive company vehicle to and from work sites.  
  • Full range of mobility in upper and lower body; overhead reaching; ability to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time; lifting up to 50 pounds frequently throughout the workday; pulling and pushing materials and equipment.
  • All other duties assigned

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ months of direct working experience in irrigation installation.
  • Prior landscape installation a plus. 
  • Ability to read, write and read blue prints. 
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to relate well with a variety of people: vendors, community, and employees.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

 

REQUIRED LICENSES/HOURS OF WORK


Valid Driver’s License State of Florida – Class E and clean MVR a plus
40+ hours per week, start times vary based on project needs. 
Working conditions: This position works outdoors in extreme weather conditions and climates. The employee will be exposed to dust, odors and fumes regularly. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
